Job description

Insight Global is seeking a Controls Engineer to join their team for renewable energy clients. This engineer will be responsible for providing engineering expertise and guidance in conceptualizing, interpreting, and executing assignments related to continuous control of energy conversion and storage processes. The role involves planning and developing engineering projects that impact major company programs, acting as a subject matter expert, providing technical support, and performing system and factory acceptance testing for new controls and system modifications.

The Controls Engineer will also provide technical leadership in the specification, design, implementation, and testing of control solutions, ensuring SCADA networking and operational requirements are addressed. The position offers a pay rate of $55-60/hr.

Skills and Requirements

• 5+ years of PLC programming or source code programming in industrial controls systems, preferably in BESS or Solar industries
• Experience with Modbus, OPC, and DNP3 protocols
• Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
• Bachelor's degree in engineering (any discipline)
• Experience with functional safety standards such as IEC 61511/61508
• Experience with control systems like ControlLogix, Ovation, PCS7, DeltaV
• Working knowledge of power fundamentals and voltage control
