Job summary

e2E KC is seeking a Controller/CFO Consultant to deliver accounting, tax, and consulting services for entrepreneurial clients in a hybrid or remote-capable setup in the Kansas City area. You will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis while guiding staff and ensuring compliance and efficiency.

The role requires strong accounting expertise, supervisory experience, and the ability to manage multiple client engagements with insight and integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; CPA preferred.
• 2+ years in a Controller role with direct supervisory experience; CPA firm experience is a plus.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including financial statement prep, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and other cloud-based accounting platforms.
• Experience with nonprofit accounting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review or prepare financial statements, schedules, reports, journal entries, and payroll.
• Consult with clients on accounting, tax, and business matters across AP/AR and tax filings.
• Review staff work and provide feedback for accuracy and development.
• Coordinate preparation of complex and non-complex tax returns and filings.
• Oversee invoicing, accounts payable, and approval of payments; manage cash flows.
• Mentor accounting staff and ensure deadlines and quality controls are met.
