Job summary

State of Washington's Department of Commerce, Housing Division, seeks a Contracts Specialist (COM3) to develop and maintain complex contract and legal documents for the Housing Trust Fund, HOME and National Housing Trust Fund programs, ensuring compliance and protecting state interests.

The role engages with project managers, attorneys, title/escrow professionals and contractors to finalize promissory notes, deeds of trust, covenants and related documents, supports templates, keeps CMS/HCMS data

Qualifications

• Seven years of combined experience and/or education in housing finance, real estate, contracting or related fields.
• Experience with affordable housing programs such as HTF, HOME or NHTF is preferred.
• Ability to analyze contracts, draft policies and improve contracting templates.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review and negotiate capital contracts and related legal documents.
• Lead negotiations with contractors, attorneys and title/escrow providers.
• Maintain CMS/HCMS databases and ensure data accuracy for contracts.
