Job summary
Washington State Department of Commerce is seeking a Contracts Specialist (COM3) to develop, review, and negotiate complex capital contracts for affordable housing programs. You will draft templates, analyze regulations, and coordinate with project managers, attorneys, and title/escrow professionals to ensure compliance and timely execution.
The role requires experience with housing finance, real estate contracts, and strong data management in CMS/HCMS systems.
Qualifications
- 7 years of combined experience and/or education in affordable housing, housing finance, real estate, contracting
- Notary/Paralegal certification and related competencies are a plus
- Strong MS Office skills and ability to manage data and documents across systems
Responsibilities
- Develop, review and negotiate terms for capital contracts and related legal documents
- Develop templates and procedures for contract documentation and improve contracting processes
- Maintain CMS/HCMS data and ensure accuracy of required legal documentation
- Provide guidance on data imaging, reporting and contract compliance
