Job summary

Easterseals PORT in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Contracts and Payer Relations Specialist to support contracting, payer configuration, and updates in EHR systems. You will log contracts, maintain files, monitor updates, and assist in rate and system setup with the revenue cycle team to ensure accurate billing.

The role requires 1–3 years’ experience with Medicaid/Medicare and payer systems, solid communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from USDOE or CHEA-accredited institution or high school diploma with 3 years in behavioral healthcare, contracting or provider relations.
• 1–3 years’ experience with Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance and MCO IPRS billing.
• 1–3 years’ experience with NC Tracks.
• 1–3 years’ experience with Alpha CMS and/or Provider Direct.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Self-starter with a positive, outgoing attitude.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
• Team player who can work independently.
• Valid state driver’s license and personal vehicle insurance.
• Experience with legal documents and contracting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Logging and tracking all contracts, amendments, and agreements to ensure timely review and approvals.
• Maintaining accurate records and files of contracts and amendments.
• Monitor provider update emails and contracts mailbox for updates and requests.
• Maintain internal location/site database and update changes as needed.
• Ensure accurate internal and payer directory information.
• Assist in rate and system setup in the EHR with revenue cycle team for timely billing.
• Conduct QA duties related to rate, site, and service configuration in EHR/payer systems.
• Submit site addition/change forms to payers.
• Maintain current site identifiers and program credentials in EHR and related systems.
• Collaborate with Contracts and Payer Relations Manager to resolve denials or billing issues.
• Coordinate updates with NC Tracks, NPPES, Alpha CMS/Provider Direct and internal systems; reflect changes including terminations.
• Assist in system assessments to improve efficiency and support strategy development.
