Job summary

Protect Democracy seeks highly motivated lawyers to join our team on a contract basis for six months to support our work to protect free and fair elections.

The attorneys will work between 20-40 hours per week on substantive litigation tasks such as legal research; drafting pleadings, legal briefs and memoranda; drafting discovery related documents, including motions, deposition outlines, third party subpoenas, etc.; assisting with the development of expert reports; and other legal work to

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of civil litigation experience.
• Comfort with fast-moving litigation.
• Ability to devote at least 20 hours per week from Oct 5, 2026 through late March 2027.
• Election law experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong commitment to Protect Democracy's mission.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research on ongoing and new litigation.
• Draft pleadings, legal briefs and memoranda.
