Job summary

System One is seeking an experienced Contract Engineer - Design Changes / SDP to support mechanical engineering activities for commercial nuclear power plants. This role develops engineering design change packages and supports uprate evaluations.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in mechanical engineering, nuclear plant design modifications, and engineering change management while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams supporting operating and advanced facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or related engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of engineering experience.
• Experience supporting commercial nuclear power plants or similar facilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work across teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering design change packages using the SDP and plant procedures.
• Support evaluations and technical reports for nuclear uprates within BOP systems.
• Resolve technical issues for operating plants and support advanced reactor projects.
• Perform engineering analyses and system assessments for mechanical systems.
• Apply ASME, ANSI codes and industry standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, civil, and structural engineering.
• Maintain project scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
• Lead problem-solving efforts and provide technical recommendations.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance as needed.
