We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Remote Consignment Sales Consultant to join our marine dealership team. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for managing the consignment sales process remotely—from intake to final sale—ensuring a seamless experience for both sellers and buyers of consignment boats, trailers, and related marine equipment.

You will play a vital role in promoting and selling consigned inventory through virtual communication, digital platforms, and coordination with our in-store team.

Additional opportunities may be available for candidates with wholesale buying experience in the auto, RV, or marine industries.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Interaction (Remote):

  • Serve as the primary remote point of contact for clients interested in consigning boats, trailers, and related marine equipment.
  • Clearly explain the consignment process—including pricing, terms, and expectations—via phone, video calls, and email.
  • Remotely promote consigned inventory by managing online listings, handling customer inquiries, and working with the marketing team to generate leads.
  • Support the in-store team by driving traffic and interest in consigned items through digital channels and virtual consultations.

Inventory Coordination:

  • Remotely assist in the evaluation and documentation of consignment units, ensuring accurate records, condition descriptions, and pricing are maintained.
  • Coordinate with on-site staff to update and manage inventory databases.
  • Facilitate and negotiate sales remotely, working with buyers and sellers to finalize deals on consigned boats, trailers, and equipment.
  • Ensure all remote transactions are processed in compliance with dealership policies and industry regulations.

Customer Service:

  • Provide outstanding remote support to buyers and sellers throughout the consignment process.
  • Promptly address inquiries, resolve concerns, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction from start to finish.

Administrative Support:

  • Maintain detailed and organized records of all remote consignment sales activities, including contracts, communications, and transaction history.
  • Ensure all digital documentation complies with dealership standards.
  • Work closely with the on-site sales and service teams to ensure a unified, effective approach to consignment sales.
  • Contribute to the dealership's overall sales goals by maintaining open communication and a team-first attitude—even from a remote setting.
Requirements

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred.

Experience

  • Prior experience in retail sales, consignment sales, or a similar role—especially within the marine industry—is highly desirable.
  • Experience with inventory management systems and online sales platforms is a plus.
  • Wholesale buying experience in the boat, RV, or automotive markets is preferred.

Skills

  • Strong sales and customer service abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to negotiate and close sales effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with marine boats, trailers, products, equipment, and terminology.
  • Ability to ensure all boats are listed online within 48 hours of customer drop-off or dealership pickup.
  • Facebook proficiency and experience with online listing platforms.
