We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Remote Consignment Sales Consultant to join our marine dealership team. This remote position plays a critical role in managing the entire consignment sales process—from intake to final sale—ensuring a seamless and professional experience for both sellers and buyers of consigned boats, trailers, and related marine equipment. You will play a vital role in promoting and selling consigned inventory through virtual communication, digital platforms, and coordination with our in-store team.
Additional opportunities may be available for candidates with wholesale buying experience in the auto, RV, or marine industries.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Interaction (Virtual):
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients interested in consigning their boats, trailers, and related marine equipment.
- Conduct consultations via phone, email, and video conferencing to explain the consignment process, set expectations, and gather detailed information on each item.
- Actively promote and secure sales contracts for consigned boats, trailers, and equipment through digital platforms such as online listings, dealership websites, and virtual consultations.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to optimize exposure and attract potential buyers.
Remote Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate digital records of consigned inventory, including photos, condition reports, pricing, and listing statuses.
- Ensure all product details are up to date and professionally presented for online marketing and internal tracking.
- Facilitate negotiations and guide both buyers and sellers through the consignment sales process.
- Ensure all remote sales transactions comply with dealership policies, contracts, and applicable legal regulations.
Customer Service (Remote):
- Provide outstanding virtual support to buyers and sellers throughout the transaction.
- Address questions, concerns, and follow-ups promptly to maintain high satisfaction and trust.
Administrative Coordination:
- Oversee digital documentation of all consigned inventory, contracts, and sales transactions.
- Ensure all records are complete, accurate, and in compliance with dealership standards.
- Coordinate remotely with internal sales and service teams to align on consignment inventory, customer leads, and support needs.
- Contribute to overall sales goals by maintaining strong virtual communication and a collaborative team spirit.
Requirements
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred.
Experience
- Prior experience in retail sales, consignment sales, or a similar role—especially within the marine industry—is highly desirable.
- Experience with inventory management systems and online sales platforms is a plus.
- Wholesale buying experience in the boat, RV, or automotive markets is preferred.
Skills
- Strong sales and customer service abilities.

- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Familiarity with marine boats, trailers, products, equipment, and terminology.
- Ability to ensure all boats are listed online within 48 hours of customer drop-off or dealership pickup.
- Facebook proficiency and experience with online listing platforms.
