Job summary

Disney’s Marvel Studios Animation is seeking a compositor in Columbus, USA, with remote options. The role focuses on final composition, color, and output for animated scenes, aligning with the IATSE 839 agreement.

The candidate will join a crew dedicated to high-quality visuals and efficient production workflows. Responsibilities include delivering polished final frames, participating in critiques, and supporting the director’s creative vision while adhering to QA standards.

Qualifications

• Digital touch‑up and painting skills required.
• Proficiency in Maya and Nuke.
• Strong knowledge of After Effects and Photoshop.
• Knowledge of matte, cryptomatte, and vital layers for finishing.
• Ability to work independently with commercial and proprietary render/compositing equipment.
• B.A. or B.S. in Animation preferred.
• Understanding of Houdini and FX skills is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform virtual touch‑up, sweetening, and paint to complete composites as final frames and/or illustrations.
• Attend daily critiques and collection launches as requested.
• Attend director evaluation conferences as required.
• Execute the director’s creative vision and QA requirements with the team.
• Help develop techniques to create required layers/mattes using compositing software and maintain proper documentation.
