Job summary

Rodeo FX seeks a Compositing Lead to guide a team of artists across complex shots, ensuring photorealistic integration of 2D and 3D elements. You will mentor teammates, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with supervisors to meet project quality and deadlines.

You will leverage deep Nuke knowledge, work with the Production team, and help develop tools and pipelines while maintaining high standards across Montreal, Paris, or US-based productions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience as Compositing Artist in the VFX industry.
• Excellent knowledge of Nuke software.
• Knowledge of Shotgun.
• Proficiency in photographic shooting including knowledge of color, lighting, perspective and composition.
• Excellent sense of prioritization and respect of deadlines.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and act as a positive role model and mentor.

Responsibilities

• Lead compositing on simple to complex shots at various stages of production.
• Answer questions and guide 2D artists within the project team.
• Resolve visual, artistic and technical issues, coordinating with other departments as needed.
• Ensure the consistency of the final composition of the elements of a visual effects shot.
• Harmonize the creative and technical aspects of each shot.
• Integrate 2D and 3D elements to produce photorealistic images meeting Rodeo's standards.
• Mentor team members and share knowledge with the Head of Department.
• Plan and assign tasks with Production, considering abilities and project timing.
• Provide feedback to artists to ensure alignment with client vision.
• Communicate status and potential delays to Production Team and Department Manager.
