Job summary

Everyday Electric, a fully remote energy compliance leader, is seeking a Compliance Operations Manager to own SOC 2 readiness, evidence management, and audit responses across the org.

You will partner with Engineering, IT, Finance and Legal to uplift SOX, ISO 27001, and related frameworks, building repeatable processes, control narratives, and a scalable compliance operating model for a fast-growing company.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in compliance operations, IT/security compliance, or related field.
• Strong background in compliance and privacy with SOC 2 audit experience.
• Knowledge of SOX and ISO 27001 frameworks; ability to learn new ones quickly.
• Ability to manage multiple audit and uplift workstreams with PM skills.
• Experience partnering with engineering, IT, and business teams to gather evidence and own controls.
• Proficiency across AWS, Jira, GitHub, HubSpot, Google Workspace, Slack.
• Excellent written communication for technical/regulatory detail.
• High attention to detail and accurate compliance records.
• Bonus: startup/high-growth experience, compliance automation or GRC tooling.
• Familiarity with GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA; first SOC 2/SOX/ISO 27001 certification prep.

Responsibilities

• Own SOC 2 compliance operations: readiness, fieldwork, remediation cycles.
• Coordinate with auditors and stakeholders for timely evidence and responses.
• Implement and uplift security compliance tooling for audits and trust center.
• Track control performance and flag gaps before findings.
• Maintain audit docs, evidence repositories, and control narratives.
• Lead SOX and ISO 27001 uplift initiatives: strategy, evaluation, project mgmt.
• Cross-functional evidence gathering with engineering, IT, finance, and business units.
• Escalate risks with clear context and recommendations to leadership.
