Job summary

American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS) invites applications for a Community Representative – Au Pair in America (APIA). This remote, flexible role supports host families and au pairs, ensuring compliance with U.S. Department of State regulations while fostering cross-cultural connections.

You’ll onboard new participants, monitor placements, coordinate meetings, and promote APIA through local outreach. The role offers flexible hours, travel within your area, and a chance to help families

Qualifications

• 5+ years in education, counseling, social work, cultural exchange, or youth development (preferred).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with cross-cultural sensitivity.
• Independent, organized, reliable and able to travel within local area as needed.

Responsibilities

• Complete required trainings within 2 months of start date.
• Conduct in-home and virtual meetings with host families and au pairs.
• Maintain reports in line with Department of State regulations and provide cultural support.
• Plan monthly au pair cultural meetups, promote APIA locally, and assist with matching processes.
• Represent APIA at local events when possible.
