Job summary

Stride, Inc. seeks a Community Engagement Specialist for Michigan Great Lakes Virtual Academy to provide school-wide services that set the right tone for student success in the virtual program.

You will lead and coordinate schoolwide community engagement, develop a calendar of in-person and virtual events, and collaborate across grades to make participation accessible. The role is home-based/remote with a Michigan residency requirement and a base salary of $45,000.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, human services, or related field.
• Two years of experience with families in a similar role or equivalent combo.
• Ability to clear required background check.
• Familiarity with online learning environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication; proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate schoolwide community engagement initiatives for students and families.
• Develop a calendar of in-person outings, virtual events, family activities, and other connection opportunities.
• Identify new and creative ways to increase student and family participation in the MGLVA community.
• Collaborate across grade bands and departments to ensure engagement opportunities are accessible and relevant to families.
• Serve as a visible and welcoming point of connection for students and families at school-sponsored events and activities.
• Build relationships with families and gather feedback to understand interests, needs, and barriers to participation.
• Support efforts to strengthen family belonging, connection, satisfaction, and long-term engagement with MGLVA.
• Help promote upcoming events and engagement opportunities through appropriate school communication channels.
