Job summary

Stride, Inc. is seeking an Elementary Self-Contained Special Education Teacher for Michigan Virtual Charter Academy (MVCA).

This full-time, remote role requires a state teaching certificate with a Special Education endorsement and a strong commitment to individualized instruction online. Base salary is around $51,000 with potential performance bonus; 40+ hour workweeks, data-driven instruction, and close collaboration with families are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong written/verbal communication skills.
• Experience teaching online or in virtual environments is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, parents, and students.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word; PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized instruction aligned with IEP goals for elementary students.
• Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports, and state-required documents.
• Communicate with parents and related service staff to coordinate therapies.
• Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences in a virtual classroom.
• Maintain data on student progress and prepare for high-stakes tests.
• Travel up to 20% for professional development or required activities.
