Job summary

SouthState Bank seeks a seasoned CRA Credit & Investment Business Strategy Manager to drive community development strategies across assessment areas. You will underwrite and structure investments, lead due diligence for LIHTC/NMTC/EQ2 programs, and balance strategic goals with risk and impact.

You will collaborate with senior leaders and various lines of business to deploy impactful lending and investment solutions, ensuring compliance and measurable community outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years in CRA/Community Development finance, commercial credit, underwriting, lending, and/or community development investments.
• Experience evaluating community development loans, tax credit investments, structured finance, or securitized investment products.
• Experience partnering with risk, legal, compliance and business line stakeholders in transaction execution.

Responsibilities

• Work with Senior Leadership and stakeholders to create and deploy strategies for enhancing community development lending and investments.
• Align with multiple business lines and regional leadership on local needs and opportunities for development.
• Lead and support community development loans and investments including LIHTC, NMTC, EQ2, and related programs.
• Conduct or support credit underwriting, including analysis of financials, cash flow, collateral, and risk factors.
• Prepare or contribute to credit memos and investment summaries; monitor performance and risk.
• Engage internal and external partners to ensure alignment with the Bank’s CRA goals and community impact.
