Job summary

The Soulful Forest, Inc is a new Connecticut nonprofit seeking a Communications and Outreach Intern I to help tell its story and build partnerships with schools and healthcare facilities. The role is remote and supports outreach efforts nationwide, with a focus on applying the FWS framework.

You will draft press materials, identify potential sponsors, craft outreach emails, and maintain a sponsorship tracker, gaining hands-on experience in nonprofit development and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Current Post University student with a Federal Work-Study award.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Comfort with professional email outreach.
• Reliable, organized, and able to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Draft and distribute press releases and build a list of local and regional media contacts, so more communities learn about the program.
• Research companies, foundations, and community organizations that fit as sponsors of a Soulful Forest installation, to grow funding for new sites.
• Draft outreach emails and follow-ups to potential sponsors and partners, to turn research into relationships.
• Track outreach and responses in a sponsorship tracker, so no lead is lost.
• Help prepare presentation materials and one-pagers for schools and hospitals, to support new partnerships.
