Job summary

Relativity is seeking a Counsel for Commercial Transactions to advise on a broad range of customer-facing and strategic commercial agreements. The role focuses on SaaS, software licensing, cloud services, AI-enabled offerings, and data processing, with cross-functional collaboration across Sales, Security, Finance and Procurement.

The ideal candidate has 4–6+ years of in-house or law firm experience, strong negotiation skills, and a JD with admission to practice in the United States.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in good standing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Intelligence, flexibility, creativity, diligence, responsiveness, and strong communications skills.
• Reasonable exposure to computer and software technology concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer, procurement, strategic commercial negotiations, transactions, and technology-related legal work by drafting, reviewing and negotiating software, SaaS and hybrid, cloud services, AI-related offerings, and strategic partnership agreements.
• Provide legal advice and business counsel on commercial and operational legal issues, negotiating a high volume of contracts.
• Engage with customers to ensure they feel listened to and deliver.
• Suggest and implement improvements in processes and standard forms to enhance efficiency.
• Exhibit agility and comfort with AI legal tools and related technology in daily work.
• Support strategic pricing initiatives and pricing governance projects with Finance and business stakeholders.
• Participate in internal approval workflow, prioritize contracts, and respond to questions from stakeholders and clients.
• Proficient with AI tools, legal tech, MS Office, Salesforce, Ironclad, and Asana.
