Qualifications

• Two years of post-secondary education required.
• Three years of property taxation, real estate or related experience.
• Licensure by the Minnesota Board of Assessors CMA/AMA or equivalent and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Appraise commercial, industrial, apartment and special use properties using mass appraisal or direct capitalization methods.
• Verify and compile sales data and interview relevant parties for accuracy in tax and valuation reporting.
• Determine land values and contribute to land component models for improved properties.
• Respond to questions from property owners and tax representatives regarding assessment methods.
• Maintain accurate records for multiple property types with extensive data fields.
• Investigate and process reductions of assessed valuation through open book and board processes.
