Job summary
Evry Health is seeking a Commercial Health Underwriter to evaluate and underwrite new business and renewal opportunities for large group fully insured employer-sponsored health plans. You will partner with Sales to develop competitive underwriting solutions and ensure decisions balance client needs with company risk.
The role requires a Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years in commercial health underwriting, plus strong analytical and communication skills and familiarity with underwriting
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial health insurance underwriting (not Medicare/Medicaid/ACA)
- Experience underwriting large group fully insured business
- Experience working with sales teams in competitive situations
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and underwrite new business and renewal opportunities for large group fully insured plans
- Interpret claims experience to inform underwriting decisions
- Collaborate with sales to develop competitive underwriting solutions
- Suggest policy changes balancing market needs with risk
- Stay updated with legislation affecting product design
