Job summary

M&T Bank Corporation is seeking a Commercial Credit Associate to assess and manage credit risk for large corporate clients in a remote-friendly, full-time role. You will underwrite, monitor, and analyze credit requests, prepare financial models, and support relationship managers through the loan life cycle.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least four years of commercial credit or financial analysis experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• 8+ years of combined higher education and work experience including at least 4 years in commercial credit or financial analysis.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and financial modeling tools.
• Familiarity with capital markets data platforms (Capital IQ, FactSet, Bloomberg).

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new requests and modifications from screening through loan approval and life of the loan.
• Monitor ongoing credit risk with CCM activities and annual/interim reviews.
• Prepare credit analyses with independent risk ratings and mitigants.
• Perform cash flow, collateral, covenant sensitivity and guarantor analyses as needed.
• Present credit recommendations and respond to questions during committee discussions.
