Job summary

Broadview FCU is seeking a Collections Representative to help members facing financial challenges while protecting the credit union. You will manage delinquent accounts, maintain records, and apply regulations to collections processes.

Responsibilities include contacting members, handling various account types, and collaborating with attorneys or external agencies. The role emphasizes member service, performance, and adherence to rules, with remote work after training and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited college preferred; combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Minimum 2 years of collections, customer service, call center, banking, or related experience preferred.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to navigate challenging conversations with professionalism and empathy.

Responsibilities

• Contact members regarding delinquent accounts and work toward resolution.
• Manage consumer loan, credit card, negative share, and small commercial collections.
• Maintain accurate collection records and documentation.
• Apply state and federal regulations related to collections, bankruptcy, foreclosure, repossessions, and consumer protection.
• Partner with attorneys, repossession vendors, and external collection agencies when appropriate.
• Make recommendations regarding repossessions, charge-offs, and collection strategies.
• Deliver exceptional member service while meeting performance and quality goals.
• Support department reporting and operational initiatives.
