Job summary

Thriveworks is seeking a California-based board-certified psychiatrist to serve as a collaborating physician and provide direct psychiatric care. The role combines supervision of PMHNPs with patient-facing evaluations, medication management, and treatment planning.

You will participate in chart reviews, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to education and policy development while working in a flexible, remote-capable setting.

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MD or DO) with residency training in Psychiatry.
• Board Certification in Psychiatry (ABPN).
• Active/unrestricted medical license (multi-state) or willingness to obtain multi-state license.
• Minimum 2 years post-residency experience, preferably supervisory or collaborative with PMHNPs.
• Willingness to treat patients aged 12+.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical supervision and support to PMHNPs per state laws and board regulations.
• Participate in chart reviews, case consultations, and quality assurance activities.
• Support PMHNPs in complex evaluations, differential diagnoses, and treatment planning.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and licensing requirements for supervision.
• Contribute to clinical education, best practices, and policy development.
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and medication management sessions.
• Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and maintain EMR documentation.
