Job summary

futureproof is seeking a skilled AI engineer with hands-on Cognigy.AI experience to design and optimize Voice and Chatbots. This is a remote, freelance/B2B role open to candidates who can work independently and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

You will implement Cognigy AI Agents, integrate with REST APIs, and fine-tune NLU models to improve latency and conversation success across Dev/Prod environments. English fluency required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with the Cognigy.AI platform.
• Proven experience building VoiceBots / IVR automation.
• Strong knowledge of CognigyAI Agents.
• Experience with REST APIs, webhooks, and backend system integrations.
• Solid understanding of JavaScript / Node.js for extensions and flows.
• Experience with NLU concepts, including intents, entities, training, and tuning.
• Familiarity with telephony integrations, such as SIP or Genesys.
• Experience with JSON, debugging, and system integration patterns.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and proactively.
• Fluent English
• Strong communication skills in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize Voice and Chatbots in Cognigy.AI.
• Implement and configure CognigyAI Agents and advanced conversational flows.
• Develop and maintain dialog structures, intents, entities, and context handling.
• Integrate Cognigy solutions with external systems, including APIs, CRM, and telephony platforms.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Configure and improve NLU models, conversation logic, and fallback strategies.
• Troubleshoot and optimize bot performance, latency, and conversation success rates.
• Support deployment pipelines across Dev, Test, and Prod environments.
