Job summary

NPH is seeking a Coding Manager to lead the coding staff, ensure accuracy and compliance, and drive process improvements across audits and education. The role focuses on training, policy development, and monitoring coding quality in accordance with CMS and payer requirements.

Ideal candidate brings extensive healthcare coding experience, CPC/CCS credentials, and strong leadership to mentor staff and coordinate audits while maintaining HIPAA privacy and security obligations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a business or health-related field or equivalent experience.
• Professional Coding Certification CPC/CCS required; additional certifications preferred.
• 35 years in healthcare with upward mobility; anesthesia experience highly relevant and 23+ years supervisory experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead Coding team: hiring, training, evaluating, and professional development.
• Provide ongoing coding education on compliance, payer requirements, and industry standards.
• Develop and monitor coding compliance policies and procedures.
• Ensure coding aligns with CMS, Medicare, Medicaid, Workers' Comp and industry standards.
• Review documentation supporting CPT/ICD-10/HCPCS/ASA codes and audit outcomes.
• Monitor coder productivity, accuracy, quality, and turnaround times; set expectations.
• Conduct routine coding audits and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain knowledge of federal/state regulations and payer policies.
• Support internal/external audits and inquiries related to coding.
