Job summary

Corinth is seeking an experienced COBOL Programmer to support a DoD client in a fully remote role. The candidate will work on mainframe applications using COBOL, MANTIS, JCL, ISPF, and CICS, with emphasis on SDLC sustainment and detailed documentation.

The role requires DoD credentials, 10+ years COBOL experience in enterprise systems, and strong collaboration across technical teams to ensure reliable, secure operations and timely audits.

Qualifications

  • US citizenship required.
  • Active DoD CAC/PIV or equivalent within 2 years.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification requirements (e.g., Security+ CE, SSCP, CISSP).
  • Associate degree or higher.
  • 10+ years COBOL experience in enterprise systems.
  • Proficiency in ISPF and CICS for mainframe programming.
  • Strong knowledge of JCL, Flat-Files, CopyLibs, and hierarchical (SUPRA) DB models.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with analysts and end users to understand opportunities and troubleshoot incidents.
  • Maintain and enhance system functionality using COBOL, MANTIS, JCL, and Assembler.
  • Develop, test, and implement mainframe applications using ISPF, CICS, JCL, and database models.
  • Apply mainframe utilities to support analysis, testing, and reporting.
  • Participate in requirements analysis, design, development, and testing with technical teams.
  • Compile and maintain documentation, reports, and artifacts for changes and audits.
  • Perform root cause analysis and participate in peer code reviews.
