Job summary

Infinite Computer Solutions is seeking a Professional Services Technical Consultant specializing in COBOL and ARP/SMS. You will design, develop, and maintain mainframe solutions for check positive pay and account reconciliation in a z/OS environment, collaborating with clients and internal teams to deliver reliable, compliant services.

You will configure ARP/SMS modules, support same-day processing, and optimize performance while mentoring junior staff and ensuring security and regulatory

Qualifications

• 5+ years of IBM z/OS mainframe development with JCL, CICS, VSAM.
• Experience configuring ARP/SMS for check processing and reconciliation workflows.
• Familiarity with PCI/DSS or NACHA-like controls in mainframe environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and maintain COBOL mainframe applications in z/OS.
• Configure ARP/SMS to support same-day and next-day positive pay reporting.
• Customize ARP/SMS services for partial or full deposit reconciliation.
• Troubleshoot production incidents, including ABENDs and data mismatches.
• Optimize COBOL, JCL, and DB2/VSAM performance for real-time and batch windows.
• Ensure compliance with banking check processing rules and security policies.
• Create and maintain runbooks and reconciliation workflow diagrams.
