Job summary

CAI is seeking a Cobol Developer to build a new pooled-account structure inside a running z/OS core, with remote contract engagement. You will analyze, design, and code critical components, modify batch processes, and provide testing data and runbooks.

Required skills include 5+ years of Enterprise COBOL in z/OS, NaturalOne, JCL, VSAM/Adabas, and financial systems experience. On-call support and thorough documentation are expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Enterprise COBOL development in a z/OS environment.
• 5+ years with NaturalOne; development, debugging, deployment.
• Experience with Natural programs and maps.
• 3+ years of JCL development and production support.
• 3+ years in financial/accounting systems development or support.
• 3+ years with VSAM/Adabas and file design.
• 3+ years tracing undocumented logic through copybooks and job streams.

Responsibilities

• Analyze current account master, posting, and balance-maintenance programs.
• Design and code new account type end to end: master file, tables, linkage.
• Modify batch COBOL programs and JCL; extend cycles without delaying batch.
• Add CRAs to audit trails, reports, and reconciliation controls.
• Produce test data and unit/regression packs; run parallel tests.
• Support implementation and conversion of in-scope accounts; on-call support.
• Provide documentation, data-flow notes, and runbook updates.
