Job summary

Bayer in Berkeley, CA is seeking a CMC Statistician to perform advanced statistical analyses and data mining on large biotechnology datasets. You will develop and test experimental designs, sampling techniques, and analytical methods to advance biologics research.

The role requires Ph.D. in Statistics or Applied Mathematics (or Master’s with 3 years) and experience with Python and R; telecommuting up to three days per week from a home office within commuting distance of Berkeley.

Qualifications

• Requires Ph.D. in Statistics, Applied Mathematics or closely related quantitative field with 1 year of Python and R experience; may accept Master’s with 3 years of experience.
• Proven ability to design, implement and validate statistical models for biotech data.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced statistical analyses and data mining on biotech data.
• Develop and test experimental designs, sampling techniques, and analytical methods.
• Query large, structured and unstructured biological data from diverse sources.
• Clean and validate data for accuracy and completeness in statistical analyses.
• Develop mathematical models to simulate biologic processes and report results.
• Design experiments for biologics and perform data analysis using statistical methods and machine learning tools.
• Collaborate on GMP cell therapy manufacturing data and process optimization.
• Query and visualize data in GCP, AWS and/or Domino.
• Transform sensor and analytical data into features for model development.
