Job summary

Bayer is seeking a CMC Statistician in Berkeley, CA to perform advanced statistical analyses, data mining, and model development for biologics data. You will design experiments, validate data, and apply machine learning to transform sensor and product analytics into actionable insights.

Requirements include a PhD or Master’s with relevant experience and 1 year of Python/R usage for model development; telecommuting is allowed from home within reasonable commuting distance to Berkeley, up to 3

Qualifications

• PhD in Statistics, Applied Mathematics or closely related quantitative field; or Master’s with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• 1 year of experience using Python and R to design, develop and deliver statistical models and machine learning algorithms on biotech data.
• Experience using GitLab and Jupyter to process and transform semi-structured data into usable features.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced statistical analyses and data mining on large biotech datasets.
• Develop and test experimental designs, sampling techniques and analytical methods.
• Query large structured and unstructured data from disparate sources and clean/validate data for analysis.
• Develop mathematical and statistical models to simulate biologic processes and report results.
• Design biologics experiments and apply design of experiments and advanced analytics in GMP contexts.
