Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Lead Cloud Solutions Architect to act as the senior client-facing technology leader for the Cloud Solutions team. You will guide solution discovery, requirements analysis, and implementation planning for complex cloud initiatives.

You will collaborate with business partners, vendors, and the Cloud Center of Excellence to ensure scalable, secure solutions that align with standards, while mentoring engineers and driving delivery outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience leading complex cross-functional technology initiatives from discovery through implementation.
• Engagement with business leaders to gather requirements and translate objectives into designs.
• Advanced understanding of Azure cloud services and cloud solution architecture.
• Working knowledge of AWS and cloud architecture principles.
• Understanding of enterprise networking concepts (DNS, routing, firewalls, VPNs).
• Experience designing solutions with relational and non-relational databases and data integrations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical advisor and trusted partner for business stakeholders.
• Lead client engagement activities including solution discovery and business case development.
• Translate business needs into scalable, maintainable technology solutions.
• Oversee full solution lifecycle from concept to deployment and operational transition.
• Develop solution roadmaps and delivery plans for cloud initiatives.
• Lead complex engagements from concept through implementation and transition.
• Collaborate with vendors, delivery teams, and the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCOE).
• Provide mentorship to Solution Architects and delivery teams.
