Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Cloud Architect to lead design, implementation, and governance of secure, scalable cloud solutions in AWS. Remote- USA role with a focus on security, automation, and platform engineering. Salary up to $130K plus incentive potential.

You will drive CSPM integration, policy-as-code, and secure-by-design practices while mentoring teams and guiding enterprise cloud strategies across risk, compliance, and business units.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Architecture roles.
• 10+ years of hands-on AWS cloud experience with core services and architecture patterns.
• Strong expertise in cloud security frameworks including NIST and industry standards.
• Extensive experience with IaC technologies such as AWS CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation, or SaltStack.
• Proven experience building secure CI/CD pipelines and implementing DevSecOps practices.
• Strong understanding of containerisation and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS).
• Experience with observability and monitoring platforms (Splunk, Datadog, ELK, Fluentd).
• Knowledge of microservices, APIs, cloud-native design, and distributed systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade cloud architectures aligned with security and compliance requirements.
• Lead security-by-default infrastructure, least-privilege access, and governance across AWS environments.
• Integrate CSPM with SIEM, monitoring, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
• Develop policy-as-code to automate security controls and governance.
• Lead cloud platform operations in a global follow-the-sun model.
• Mentor engineers and promote cloud engineering best practices.
• Provide architectural guidance for cloud platform modernization and migrations.
• Collaborate with risk, compliance, security, and business units on cloud strategy.
