Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer for a remote role, supporting AWS and Azure and focusing on sustaining and scaling government-grade cloud environments. You will manage VM lifecycles, implement IaC, and integrate security into pipelines while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

This role requires Public Trust eligibility, US citizenship, and experience with DevSecOps and multi-subscription architectures; the position is contingent on contract award.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, Engineering, or related field; additional experience may substitute.
• 5+ years in cloud engineering, DevSecOps, or AWS/Azure platform operations.
• Experience with AWS/Azure IaaS and PaaS environments.
• Experience with IaC and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to obtain Public Trust; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support for AWS and Azure cloud environments.
• Manage VM lifecycles for large VM environments.
• Support multi-subscription Azure architectures.
• Perform backup, restore, and DR operations.
• Design cloud environments for onboarding and production deployments.
• Integrate security controls and compliance scans into pipelines.
• Monitor cloud platforms for performance, security, and availability.
• Collaborate with cloud engineers, architects, and enterprise teams.
• Support VoIP and real-time communications platforms in cloud environments.
