Job summary

Branch is seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer to join our Cloud Ops team, delivering scalable, secure cloud infrastructure on GCP and supporting our 24/7 on-call rotation. You will implement and maintain infrastructure, build automation, and ensure compliance with security standards while collaborating across teams and using AI-enabled automation tools.

The role requires 3+ years in cloud infra, experience with Docker/Kubernetes, and scripting languages; a bachelor’s degree or equivalent is

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
3+ years of cloud infrastructure engineering (preferably GCP).
Familiarity with observability tools: monitoring, logging, tracing.
Proficiency in Python, Bash, Java, or Go.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Exposure to security practices or teams.
Willingness to work in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
Interest in AI tools to accelerate work (Claude, Copilot, Gemini).

Responsibilities

Implement and maintain cloud infrastructure in GCP under senior engineers."
Contribute to scalable, secure, highly available infrastructure.
Build automation to reduce toil and improve recovery from incidents.
Troubleshoot issues and support cloud infra and observability tools.
Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards.
Follow incident response processes and monitoring across the stack.
Collaborate on infra work and cross-department automation.
Participate in Ops processes: outages, compliance, sprints, metrics, and documentation.
