Job summary

Applied Information Sciences is seeking a talented Infrastructure Engineer I to support a cloud migration program moving applications and infrastructure to Microsoft Azure and AWS. You will assess requirements, prepare target environments using IaC, and execute migrations with careful validation and handoff to customers.

You will collaborate with teams, follow secure procedures, document runbooks, and help ensure a smooth cutover and stabilization across Windows and Linux environments.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of infrastructure engineering, systems administration, cloud engineering, or migration experience.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure or AWS cloud environments.
• Windows and Linux server administration experience.
• Working knowledge of networking, storage, virtualization, identity and access management, and application dependencies.
• Experience following secure and compliant engineering procedures, including applying or validating STIG controls and/or DoD security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Reviews application and infrastructure information to identify migration prerequisites, dependencies, risks, and readiness gaps.
• Prepares Azure and AWS target environments using approved architecture patterns, infrastructure as code, configuration standards, and security guardrails.
• Sets up, monitors, and troubleshoots server, virtual machine, application, and data replication using approved migration tools.
• Executes documented migration, cutover, rollback, and recovery steps, including application shutdown, synchronization, target startup, and technical handoff activities.
• Performs and documents pre- and post‑migration validation of infrastructure, connectivity, authentication, configuration, application services, and operational readiness.
• Troubleshoots migration issues across Windows and Linux servers, networking, storage, virtualization, identity, and cloud services, engaging shared specialists when needed.
• Maintains migration runbooks, configuration records, source‑controlled scripts, status updates, and evidence required for change approval and customer acceptance.
