Job summary

Apexon is hiring a Cloud Middleware Engineer. This remote role requires strong hands-on experience with AWS API Gateway, cloud-native integration, and enterprise middleware solutions. Deep Apache Camel expertise and batch data pipeline design are essential.

Responsibilities include building API integrations, maintaining middleware, and ensuring secure, compliant, and scalable data exchanges across hybrid environments. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Our client seeks a Cloud Middleware Engineer with hands-on AWS API Gateway and cloud-native integration experience.
• Deep experience with Apache Camel or similar frameworks is required.
• Experience in designing and supporting batch file integrations and data pipelines.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, XML, flat file messaging and HTTP.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement API integrations using AWS API Gateway and related AWS services.
• Develop and maintain middleware using Apache Camel or similar frameworks.
• Build and support batch integration processes for high-volume data exchange.
• Define integration patterns including error handling, retries, logging and monitoring.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security and business teams on designs.
• Troubleshoot interfaces, TLS certificates, authentication issues and support incidents.
• Ensure integrations meet security, compliance and architectural standards.
• Document designs, interface specs and runbooks.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to project teams.
• Evaluate tools, patterns and modernization opportunities.
