Job summary

Canonical is hiring an Engineering Manager for the BootStack team, shaping modern distributed systems on private infrastructure for customers worldwide. You will lead engineers overseeing day-to-day managed services, collaborate with product engineering and operations, and drive continuous improvement in deployments.

As a technologist passionate about Linux and cloud tech, you will manage a distributed team, align on strategy, and ensure SLAs are met while delivering quality services across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's (or equivalent) education in a technology field.
• Proven experience delivering software or managing operations teams.
• Experience with OpenStack.
• Strong testing and maintainable code quality.
• Experience with Linux system administration (Ubuntu/Debian a plus).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with agile software development and distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow an engineering team to optimise development and operations quality and velocity.
• Identify and measure team health indicators.
• Implement disciplined engineering and operations processes.
• Represent the BootStack team to stakeholders, customers and external teams.
• Ensure focus on priorities, milestones, and deliverables.
• Meet service level agreements for global deployments.
• Deliver high-quality managed services consistently and promptly.
