Job summary

Canonical is hiring an Engineering Manager for the BootStack team. You’ll lead a growing engineering group responsible for day-to-day managed services across customer environments, collaborating with product engineering and operations.

The role requires strong Linux, OpenStack, and distributed systems expertise, with a track record in software delivery or operations management and experience in agile environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technology field.
• Proven experience delivering software or managing operations teams.
• Experience with OpenStack and cloud platforms.
• Strong testing and maintainable code practices.
• Experience with Linux systems administration (Ubuntu/Debian a plus).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience leading distributed teams and agile development.

Responsibilities

• Manage a growing engineering team for development and operations quality and velocity.
• Identify and measure team health indicators.
• Implement disciplined engineering and operations processes.
• Represent the BootStack team with stakeholders, customers, and external teams.
• Ensure proper team focus on priorities, milestones, and deliverables.
• Meet service level agreements for global deployments.
• Deliver quality managed services in a timely manner.
