Job summary

CORMAC Corporation is seeking a Solutions Architect in Leesburg, VA, to define end-to-end architecture and modernization strategy for a cloud-based CMS data and analytics program. You will lead platform maturity assessments, drive tool pilots, and ensure secure, scalable solutions aligned with CMS goals and federal compliance.

You will collaborate with data engineers, security teams, and stakeholders to deliver data ingestion, analytics, and user-facing applications while directing API, ETL/ELT

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering related or equivalent degree.
• 8+ years of IT experience and SDLC lifecycle.
• 4+ years of Federal Government proposal solutioning/writing.
• 4+ years of AWS Cloud and DevOps experience.
• Experience designing enterprise cloud architecture across data, analytics, and apps.
• Ability to define/manage technical roadmaps in complex environments.
• Experience with maturity assessments and capability improvements.
• Hands-on knowledge of data platforms, analytics tools, and integration architectures.
• Experience with Databricks or similar large-scale data/AI platforms.
• Strong API, data pipelines, cloud infra, and security understanding.
• Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
• Experience in regulated environments with compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and own end-to-end solution architecture across data platforms and portals.
• Define and maintain the technical roadmap aligned with modernization goals.
• Assess architecture maturity across data, analytics, integration, and security.
• Lead pilot of new analytics or data tools with PoC design and results reporting.
• Translate requirements into scalable, secure technical solutions.
• Collaborate with data architects, engineers, stakeholders, and security teams.
• Define integration patterns for APIs and data pipelines.
• Support analytics/AI enablement with cloud-native tools.
• Ensure CMS and healthcare compliance standards are met.
• Develop architecture artifacts like roadmaps and diagrams.
• Lead governance sessions, reviews, and executive discussions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and adoption strategies.
