Job summary

ECU Health seeks an experienced Cloud Architect/Leader to shape governance, design cloud infrastructure, and mentor engineers. You will drive cloud adoption, lead cost governance, and collaborate across cybersecurity and enterprise architecture to deliver secure, scalable platforms.

The role requires deep expertise in public cloud, IaC, and DevOps, with on-call responsibilities and a commitment to security and compliance across systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/Engineering/Data Science/Math or 10 years of relevant work experience.
• 8+ years with Public Cloud Infrastructure, server OS, data protection, DevOps-CI/CD and cloud security.
• Two advanced certifications or will obtain within one year of start date.
• Proven design and implementation of complex Cloud Infrastructure and DevOps Platforms.
• Scripting knowledge: Bash, Python, PowerShell; familiarity with compliance frameworks (NIST, HIPAA, HiTrust).
• Experience leading project teams and mentoring engineers; strong collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Leads strategy and design of cloud infrastructure including governance and compliance frameworks.
• Develops and maintains IT architectural documentation and artifacts.
• Serves as technical advisor to leadership and drives cloud adoption within a CCoE.
• Lead Cloud Financial Management and cost governance initiatives.
• Evaluate AI-enabled engineering platforms, copilots, and automation to boost productivity.
• Lead data protection and cyber resiliency strategies for Cloud Platforms.
• Oversee IaC practices and mentor other engineers and architects.
• Collaborate with CyberSecurity to implement security technologies for Cloud platforms.
• Lead root-cause analysis of IT issues and document findings for avoidance.
• Provide 24x7 on-call escalation support as needed; develop RCA reporting.
