Job summary

Apricot is seeking a Middle+ Security Engineer to assess and reduce security risk across AWS, application delivery, containers, and LLM/AI integrations. In this role, you will combine hands-on security engineering with automation, vulnerability remediation, and cross-functional technical review.

This remote, fixed-term project (6-8 months) is open to candidates in Egypt, Jordan, and other nearshore regions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Security Engineering or DevSecOps.
• Proficient in Python/Go/Ruby scripting.
• Hands-on with AWS security services (IAM, VPC, GuardDuty).
• Experience with AppSec tooling (Burp Suite, ZAP, Snyk).
• Experience with containers and Kubernetes security.
• IaC security review experience (Terraform/CloudFormation).

Responsibilities

• Conduct threat modeling and security reviews for cloud infra and LLM/AI integrations.
• Integrate SAST/DAST/SCA into CI/CD pipelines.
• Harden AWS environments and Kubernetes workloads.
• Automate security tasks, alerts, and incident workflows.
• Triage and remediate vulnerabilities from scans and Bug Bounty programs.
