Job summary

UpDoc, Inc. is seeking a Clinician Scientist (MD) to define and evaluate the clinical intelligence behind its AI-enabled chronic disease products. You will operate at the intersection of clinical reasoning, AI evaluation, and clinical data and EHR integrations.

This remote role requires medical training, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with Product, Engineering, and health-system stakeholders to map workflows and ensure safe, testable outcomes.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with board certification or eligibility and direct patient-care experience.
• Ability to reason through ambiguous clinical scenarios and translate to testable expectations.
• Strong analytical and technical fluency with data, APIs, and EHR concepts.
• Experience collaborating with Engineering, AI/ML, Data, Product, and clinical teams.
• Experience developing or evaluating AI-enabled clinical products.
• Clinical research experience or FDA-regulated software exposure.
• Experience in chronic disease management or primary care.
• Clinical informatics familiarity with EHRs, FHIR, and interoperability.
• Familiarity with Python, SQL, notebooks, data analysis, or AI tooling.

Responsibilities

• Define clinical reasoning, expected system behavior, and safety boundaries for UpDoc’s chronic disease products.
• Build and run rigorous clinical evaluations with datasets, rubrics, and thresholds.
• Contribute to clinical validation, outcomes analysis, and research for new capabilities.
• Work with clinical data and EHR integrations and map workflows to real-world systems.
• Serve as a clinical and technical partner with Product, Engineering, health-system informatics, and stakeholders.
