Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Pre-Award Budget and Financial Analyst for the PALM team in New Haven, CT. The role focuses on Medicare Coverage Analyses (MCAs), research budgets, and negotiating with sponsors to ensure financial viability and compliance across studies.

Responsibilities include financial analysis, GAAP adherence, and collaboration with investigators, sponsors, and CROs to align budgets with MCAs and institutional policies. This is a contract-to-hire, fully remote position within the U.S.

Qualifications

• Experience in clinical research budgeting, coverage analysis, and billing.
• Proficiency in developing Medicare Coverage Analyses and negotiating clinical trial budgets.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and manage time effectively.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in technology, including Microsoft Office Suite, Clinical Trial Management Systems, and Electronic Medical Record systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct financial analysis and reporting, synthesizing information to create accurate and timely reports.
• Advise and apply GAAP to specialized areas, ensuring compliance with internal and external financial reporting needs.
• Contribute to the planning and improvement of financial methods and systems.
• Collaborate with all levels of internal and external contacts to achieve departmental goals.
• Accurately record transactions and verify entries to ensure the accuracy of financial statements.
• Perform complex reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in financial systems.
• Translate department finance goals into actionable objectives and identify financial opportunities and risks.
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls to ensure the effective use of resources and adherence to regulations.
• Mentor, lead, and supervise staff as needed.
