Job summary

Ascension Pharmacy Services, a leading nonprofit health system, seeks a licensed Pharmacist for a remote role with on-site support in Maryland as needed. The position involves reviewing medication orders, advising on formulary alternatives, and ensuring accurate dispensing and patient education.

Responsibilities include collaborating with physicians, supervising pharmacy technicians, and occasionally precepting pharmacy students.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist licensure required and active in the designated state.
• Doctor of Pharmacy or PharmD degree preferred (PhD not required).
• No prior work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and assesses medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve drug-related problems.
• Recommends formulary alternatives when appropriate.
• Compounds and dispenses medications with accurate delivery to patients; provides information to staff and patients.
• Communicates with physicians and clinicians to facilitate care.
• Oversees technicians and assists in dispensing; may precept pharmacy students.
• Provides patient counseling and may provide cross-coverage for pharmacy needs.
