Job summary

Vanscoy Rare Pharmacy is hiring a Remote Clinical Pharmacist to support rare disease patients. This Orlando-based role is fully remote with occasional travel for training in Pittsburgh, PA, and potential future onsite work after facility completion.

You will collaborate with physicians and care teams to optimize therapy, educate patients, and ensure compliant, high-quality care. The ideal candidate holds a PharmD, Florida license, 3–5 years in specialty pharmacy, and demonstrates leadership,

Qualifications

• PharmD from an accredited pharmacy school.
• Active Florida pharmacist license in good standing.
• 3–5 years in a specialty pharmacy with rare diseases preferred.
• Strong knowledge of specialty pharmacy operations and programs.
• Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills.
• Experience supervising pharmacists and technicians.
• Willingness to obtain additional state licensure as required.
• Independent judgment and strong time management.

Responsibilities

• Provide telephonic and video-based clinical support for patients with rare diseases.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to optimize treatment plans.
• Educate patients and caregivers on medication use and adherence.
• Monitor outcomes and make recommendations to improve therapy.
• Ensure compliance with specialty pharmacy protocols and guidelines.
• Coordinate with manufacturers, payers, and patient assistance programs.
• Support prior authorization processes and navigate insurance barriers.
• Maintain accurate documentation of interventions and interactions.
• Stay current with new therapies and rare disease guidelines.
• Provide education and training to staff, providers, and patients.
• Offer on-call support outside normal hours.
• Contribute to licensure planning across states and jurisdictions.
• Travel to Pittsburgh for training; potential Orlando on-site work in the future.
• Possibly supervise dispensing operations post-VRP facility completion.
