Job summary

Western Governors University (WGU) is seeking a Clinical and Field Experience Assistant to join the Clinical Experience Department in a full-time remote capacity. You will facilitate placement, ensure compliance, and coordinate with students and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes documentation, communication, and collaboration while supporting ongoing improvement efforts within the team. A strong foundation in administration and higher education experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience with Microsoft Office and/or Adobe products.
• One or more years of experience with clinical placement/scheduling, compliance, affiliation agreements, MOUs, or related WGU experience.
• Two or more years in an administrative role.
• One or more years of experience working in Salesforce.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Experience in higher education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with students, WGU personnel, and outside professionals regarding placement, compliance, and outreach efforts.
• Collaborates with external and internal stakeholders to negotiate and secure partnerships with external health facilities and academic settings.
• Communicates with students and stakeholders to set clear expectations of the placement and onboarding process, compliance requirements, and affiliation agreements while providing updates throughout the process.
• Understands placement guidelines/policies and supports students in adhering to the policies.
• Assists students with navigating the requirements needed to be cleared for placement.
• Communicates via email, meetings and phone calls; cold calling partners or other stakeholders may occasionally be necessary.
• Exhibits professional conduct and serves as a representative of the company and department.
• Works in a student relations management system.
• Collaborates with legal counsel to assure all contracts with sites are current and appropriate.
• Performs online research of new sites (academic and health facilities).
• Initiates and maintains contracts between WGU and health facility sites.
• Assists other team members with account/placement concerns, troubleshooting, escalated issues, etc.
• Assists with and/or leads team or departmental projects as needed.
• Assists with ongoing team training and onboarding new team members.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
