Job summary

The College of New Jersey in Ewing, NJ is seeking a Project Specialist to support clinical mental health graduate students with practicum, internship, and apprenticeship placements. The role emphasizes building a network of clinical sites across NJ and beyond, coordinating year-round experiences, and upholding CACREP standards.

The position requires a Master’s in counseling or related field and 2–5 years of relevant experience, with strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in counseling or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in clinical mental health counseling.
  • Experience in project management or coordination, with strong organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and networking ability.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all clinical experiences and respond to inquiries from students, faculty, administrators, and external professionals regarding the clinical program.
  • Oversee CACREP assessments, curricular evaluation, and program improvement efforts for annual CACREP reports.
  • Monitor apprenticeship progress and communicate with apprenticeship partners.
  • Mentor students to help find practicum/internship sites upon enrollment.
  • Recruit potential sites to accept interns, both in NJ and nationally.
  • Supervise student progress in practicum, internship, and apprenticeship via the Supervision Assist platform.
  • Manage site affiliation contracts related to field placements (including apprenticeships).
  • Answer inquiries from potential apprenticeship and internship sites.
  • Monitor apprenticeship data, send forms to supervisors, monitor completion requirements, report accordingly.
  • Ensure timely submission of progress reports to apprenticeship partners.
  • Host 2-3 clinical Practicum orientations annually and coordinate pre-practicum skills assessment.
  • Schedule and oversee the pre-practicum skills assessment and related hiring.
  • Provide or coordinate at least two continuing education opportunities to site supervisors per term.
  • Maintain the Clinical Manual with revisions for codes of ethics and accreditation standards.
  • Prepare CACREP accreditation reports related to clinical experiences for Practicum and Internship.
