Job summary

SSM Health is seeking a Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist to help ensure medical records accurately reflect patient health status and risk scores. You will audit records and collaborate with care teams to improve documentation across multiple states.

The role requires CDI expertise, CMS knowledge, and strong communication with physicians and coding staff. This is a full-time position with remote options in MO and surrounding areas, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing, PA/NP, or medical school with CCDS certification.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical records for CDI and mortality scoring.
• Collaborate on CDI and risk adjustment findings.
• Maintain CMS requirements knowledge during concurrent record reviews.
• Liaise between coding staff and physicians as appropriate.
• Identify opportunities for program development and process improvements.
• Maintain documentation and logs of CDI opportunities.
• Apply evidence-based practice to nursing care.
