Job summary

Health Partners Plans seeks a CDI Specialist to review medical records and improve documentation for accurate reflection of clinical treatment and diagnoses. The role involves identifying documentation gaps, issuing queries, and collaborating with physicians, coders, and care teams.

The position supports remote work with strong adherence to HIPAA and quality standards. Ideal candidates will have nursing and health information management background, with CCDS/CDIP or RHIA/RHIT certifications

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing or related clinical degree.
• Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management or related field.
• CCDS/CDIP certification preferred or RHIA/RHIT with CCS/MS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records for completeness and accuracy of documentation.
• Identify documentation opportunities and generate queries to physicians and providers.
• Collaborate with coding staff to ensure accurate discharge diagnoses and comorbidities.
• Educate physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants on coding and documentation requirements.
• Maintain knowledge of HIPAA and PHI regulations and ensure compliant access.
• Work effectively in a remote home-based environment and troubleshoot system issues.
