Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a seasoned Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Specialist to analyze medical records, educate clinicians, and ensure accurate coding aligned with ICD-10-CM and CMS guidelines. The role involves remote support from Florida with occasional travel to larger regions, collaborating with Risk Adjustment teams and multiple clinics.

You will drive program development, monitor performance, and provide guidance to CDI staff while maintaining compliance with privacy laws.

Qualifications

• Technical/Vocational training related to coding and CDI.
• Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Licenses/certifications: RHIT, CCS, CRC, CDIP, CCDS, CPC are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze medical record documentation for HCC accuracy and completeness.
• Educate physicians and providers on accurate clinical documentation.
• Serve as CDI subject matter expert for internal and external partners.
• Participate in program development, execution, and performance.
• Assist CDI team with process improvements to enhance coding outcomes.
• Evaluate M.E.A.T criteria to support submitted diagnosis codes.
• Collaborate with operational teams in a matrix relationship.
• Maintain knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CMS guidelines and updates.
• Support privacy and data protection compliance requirements.
• Report data, metrics and trends using analytical skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
